Wait…are you part of a nonprofit? Click here
Social media has always meant to connect people—to create shared expriences for people all over the world. But something has been missing from that recipe for quite a while, hasn’t it? You know, the part where people create experiences worth sharing? We love meme content just as much as the next person, but today’s social media platforms are riddled with unhealthy comparisons, toxic feedback loops, bots, thots, trolls and rick-rolls. Oh, and ads.
Consider Rayze a social media antidote.
Rayze is a mobile platform that uses positive social media to simplify the way we give back. Hopefully you’ve read that part already. We use simple tools to connect people to volunteer (and donor) opportunities, we facilitate genuine and authentic interactions between nonprofit organizations, and we empower users to share their stories, tell their truths, and “rayze” the collective well-being.
Engage with a positive, service-oriented population.
Create and share inspiring content to be a force for change in the culture that surrounds social media.
No time to volunteer? You can still donate and raise awareness of various campaigns or organizations.
Discover volunteer opportunities based on your skills and interest.
Organize your own grassroots initiatives and find like-minded individuals to make a difference in your community.
Get involved and be the change you want to see in the world!

Only those 501(c)(3) organizations that have been verified by Rayze and Stripe (our payment processing partner) will be allowed to accept donations with their Stripe accounts. These organizations will be denoted by the yellow check mark.
Even if a 501(c)(3) organization has been verified, this is an optional functionality that these nonprofit organizations can turn on or off at any time.
While we think our country’s nonprofit organizations are a vital part of improving our world, we also think our societal impact can be amplified with the participation of for-profit organizations. It’s becoming increasingly prevalent that to remain competitive in this world, businesses must have purpose beyond just profit. If Rayze is going to “talk the talk”, we also need to “walk the walk”. The flexibility offered by remaining a for-profit entity will also allow us to show that business models of social media platforms can be improved for the benefit of our collective well-being.
Anyone! That’s the beauty of Rayze. We want to empower anyone with the time, resources, desire, and manpower to make a difference in both online and in-person communities. However, before an opportunity or event can be posted by an individual (i.e. not a nonprofit organization), a community group must be formed.
To put it simply, Rayze was created to be a positive online space, all of the time. While there are a tremendous amount of great things about the other platforms that already exist, there is no doubt that some of them have a negative impact on one’s mental well-being. That’s why Rayze is intended to be a space that users can turn to, day in and day out, for a little dose of positivity. Whether that’s sharing an inspiring video or consuming content posted by a local nonprofit showing appreciation for one of their volunteers. Of course, managing any online space can be difficult, which is why we will be heavily reliant on our community guidelines and the support of our users. If we all commit to only engaging with content that fits the vibe of the Rayze community (and reporting those that do not), we believe we can create something truly impactful.
A lumen is a measure of brightness. We let users give up to 50 lumens to a post to let that user or organization know that they brightened your day. Giving more lumens shines a light on quality content, the antidote to the current toxic social media landscape.
